Job Summary- The Microsoft & Computer Systems Administrator will implement, manage, and support various Microsoft technologies and computer systems. This role involves providing escalated technical support for computer systems, network infrastructure, and associated peripherals, with a strong emphasis on customer service and Microsoft administration including Active Directory, Office 365, SharePoint, PowerShell, Intune, etc.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent (60 college credit hours) and two years of directly related work experience and demonstrated experience in Active Directory administration, Office 365 administration, SharePoint administration, or PowerShell scripting
- Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, Office 365 administration, PowerShell, computer systems, and associated peripherals
- Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems (PC and Server), Microsoft Office, computer network technology, and well-developed troubleshooting skills
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver License, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy

Essential Functions
- Focus on customer service
- Implements, administers, and supports on-prem and cloud-based Microsoft Windows Enterprise Products, including Active Directory, Office 365, SharePoint, Exchange, file, print, secure print, remote desktop tools, Azure, Intune, etc.
- Performs user account creation and update tasks
- Administers and implements virtual machines
- Assists with the installation and administration of various enterprise applications
- Packages third-party software for deployment with patch management
- Assists in assessing network and data security threats, recommends mitigations to security
- Administers and implements all aspects of the backup solution including maintaining a regular systems backup schedule and coordinating offsite storage of backup
- Administers and implements patch management of servers helping to ensure systems are secure and accessible. Performs off-hours patching as necessary along with quarterly maintenance patching
- Participates in incident response activities, including containment, investigation, and recovery
- Responds to information security incidents and cyber investigations, including computer forensics, network forensics, root cause analysis, and malware analysis
- Performs security analysis of existing systems for compliance with security requirements
- Provides timely, accurate, and consistent service and support to users
- Responds to telephone calls, emails, help desk tickets, and other requests for technical support
- Documents, tracks, and monitors problems and requests to ensure timely resolution
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task when taking phone calls, answering emails, or reviewing help desk tickets and responding to all user requests promptly
- Installs, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots devices, including PCs, laptops, printers, peripherals, and telephones
- Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary
- Supports and maintains user account information, including rights, security, and groups.
- Evaluate IT-related service requests and notify the requester of the expected completion date for all service requests received

Physical Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move or drive to other locations on and off campus
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
- Use of manual dexterity
- Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder up to 30 feet tall to service IT equipment
- Constantly positions self to maintain computers and equipment at various locations, including under the desks
- The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Frequently moves boxes or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Duties indoors and some outdoors
- Duties may require working evenings and weekends

Pay Statement- Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
